A Great Big Thank You to Our Pinwheels Committee!

Each year, the Exchange Family Center hosts fun community events for families, friends, and supporters. We are deep in the planning phase for our next one: Pinwheels Family Fun Day happening at Wheels Fun Park on Sunday, April 28th, 2019, from noon to 6:00 pm.

If you’ve attended Pinwheels in the past, you know it’s a place for laughing, connecting as well as enjoying time together with your family and friends. You saw some great performances, got some fabulous swag, learned a little about how families & classrooms were touched by EFC, and maybe your even won a prize. But you may not know everything that goes on behind the scenes to make this fantastic event a success.

This event wouldn’t be possible without the diligent work of the Pinwheels Committee. These eight individuals have given up their time and energy to coordinate activities, contact sponsors, secure donations, organize volunteers, and plan, plan, plan. We see your hard work and are grateful for all that you do!

The Pinwheels Committee:

  1. Leanne Link (EFC Board member)

  2. Susan Joines (EFC Board member)

  3. LaDean Jones (Community partner/representative)

  4. Deric Boston  (Community partner/representative)

  5. Johnesha Truesdale   (Community partner/representative)

  6. Verona Jeter-Middleton (EFC Board member)

  7. Rosalind Coleman (EFC Board member)

  8. Ashley O'Connor (EFC Executive Intern)

Thank you so much!

If you are unfamiliar with this event, Pinwheels is all about coming together as a community for a day of play. Every April, EFC hosts Pinwheels Family Fun Day to raise awareness about how to support kids becoming resilient. April is Child Abuse Prevention month, so it’s an appropriate time to think about how the community can keep all kids happy & safe by supporting their parents, teachers, and other caring adults.
