Family Therapist - Parenting of Adolescents Program (posted 12/13/11)
Reports To: Program Manager - Parenting of Adolescents Program
Position Description:
This is a full-time therapist position in the Parenting of Adolescents Program working with families who have an adolescent who is court involved or at risk for court involvement. The family therapist provides direct in-home services to families, and provides services in a group setting. An evidenced based model is used in this program and full training will be provided.
Essential Job Functions:
- Provides in-home, strengths based, goal-oriented family counseling, using an evidenced based model.
- Facilitates parent education via workshops or classes, in addition to in home services, as needed by the agency.
- Maintains a flexible schedule in order to best meet the needs of the families served.
- Attends both individual and group staffing on a weekly basis.
- Ensures all client files and information required by funders are complete and accurate.
- Attends meetings and trainings as required by funders.
- Supports agency fundraising events.
Required Knowledge/Skills:
- Master's degree in a human services field with licensure preferred.
- Experience in providing counseling to families or children.
- Experience with outreach or in-home service delivery.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Hiring Range: $39,000 - $43,000 with full benefits
